Why do I need this?

Travelling is very exciting but it can be stressful too. Due to the increasing exchange rate of the Rand against many foreign currencies, travelling without travel insurance has the potential to leave you financially crippled. Hospital costs for a serious injury or illness can run into millions of Rands. Capitec’s International Travel Insurance provides you with the peace of mind that your emergency medical costs will be covered in the foreign currency you require.

You will automatically qualify for up to R10million medical expenses cover.

Important to note:
  1. The maximum number of travellers per cardholder, per international journey is 8.
  2. To qualify for the travel insurance, you can purchase a travel conveyance ticket for yourself, a member of your immediate family or a travel companion who is travelling with you on the same itinerary.
  3. Pre-existing medical conditions are included up to age 70 years to a limit of R500 000. A pre-existing condition refers to medical treatment received for an illness or condition that has occurred within six (6) months prior to your journey. On-going medication will also be considered “pre-existing”.
  4. Read and understand your terms and conditions prior to departing on your journey. Phone the Travel Insurance Help Desk if you have any query regarding your cover.
What if I want higher limits and more cover? There is an option available to you if you are 75 years or younger, at an additional premium, should you require more medical cover, accidental death, luggage, cancellation or curtailment, plus many other benefits.
